
Marthe Van Overbeke
Profile
Marthe obtained her Master of Science in rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy, in both musculoskeletal and internal disorders from Ghent University. During her final two years as a Master's student, she was involved in a project examining the relationship between physical activity and lung cancer, as well as physical activity and COPD.
After working as a physiotherapist, she started her (Joint) PhD in October of 2023. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Geert Crombez (Ugent) and Prof. Dr. An De Groef (UAntwerpen) and Dr. Lore Dams (UAntwerpen). Her doctoral research focusses on treatment for persistent pain after breast cancer. In this research a more biopsychosocial approach is explored, by looking into different treatment options, such as an eHealth intervention and a face to face intervention.
